    Design – Van and Slaut, Netherlands called Tonga Jr
    Predecessor – INS Mahdi
    To promote sailing vehicle and encourage women empowerment, Indian navy made the idea of first all women circumnavigation of the globe.
    All 6 sailors would be women headed by Lt. Commander Varlika Joshi.

NOMENCLATURE

    Tara – Tarini temple of Odisha (Ganjam).
    Tarini means boat and also Sansket word for savior.
    Tara – Tarini is a patron diety for sailors and merchants and is worshipped for safety/ success at sea.
    Taraini has many satellite communication systems through which she can be contracted in the world.
